Almirola leads final “AAA 400 Drive for Autism” practice

Aric Almirola posted the fastest lap time during the final Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series practice session for Sunday’s “AAA 400 Drive for Autism” at Dover International Speedway.

His 22.745-second lap time was 0.032 seconds quicker than Chase Elliott, who recorded the second-fastest time in the session on Saturday.

With a 23.570-lap time, Clint Bowyer turned in the third-quickest time of the day, and the polesitter for Sunday’s race, Kyle Larson, finished the final practice with the fourth-quickest time (22.824).

Jimmie Johnson, an 11-time winner at Dover in the Cup Series, was seventh quickest after recording a 22.937-second lap time, and Joey Logano, who was the fastest driver in the second MENCS practice session on Friday, was 13th fastest.

The green flag for the “AAA 400 Drive for Autism” is scheduled to drop shortly at 2 p.m.
