Kyle Busch posts top speed at “Drive Sober 200” practice

Kyle Busch is no stranger to NASCAR XFINITY Series dominance at Dover International Speedway. And if the first practice session for Saturday’s “Drive Sober 200” presented by the Delaware Office of Highway Safety is any indication of things to come for Busch, his success at the Monster Mile this weekend will continue.

Busch, a five-time winner at Dover in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, was out in front for the first practice session with a time of 22.824 seconds (157.729 mph). Erik Jones, Alex Bowman, Austin Dillon and Joey Logano rounded out the top five.

The second and final NASCAR XFINITY Series practice of the weekend was cut short Friday afternoon, as sprinkling rains wet the track a tad too much to get in a full session.

Regardless, drivers did get some track time with Bowman posting the fastest lap at 23.837 seconds (152.304 mph). Busch was second, with Logano, Sadler and Justin Allgaier rounding out the top five.

The drivers will next see the track Saturday at 11:45 a.m. for qualifying for the “Drive Sober 200” presented by the Delaware Office of Highway Safety NASCAR XFINITY Series race.

Green flag for the race follows qualifying at 3 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 800-441-RACE or by visiting
