“I’m proud of our team and looking forward to racing on Sunday,” Truex said. “Hopefully we’ll get some more bonus points.”

For Truex, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series points leader, it is his 14th career pole win and second of 2017.

“[Kyle] and I have been next to each other on the front row a lot this year,” Truex said. “It’s good to finally be the one in first.”

Busch noted he was pleased with the tire compound available for Sunday’s race. The same combination was used at Darlington earlier this month.

“This was a good run for us,” Busch said. “We’re excited to have an all-Toyota front row and we’ll go racing on Sunday.

“It feels like the left-side tire is soaking up more of the bumps and aggressiveness that the concrete has in store for us.”
