Miles the Monster goes on the road with the NASCAR circus in 2012

DOVER, Del. – With the NASCAR season now officially underway following this past weekend’s festivities in Daytona Beach, Fla., Dover International Speedway has announced that Miles the Monster, the track’s icon, will be traveling with the NASCAR circuit this year as part of the all new Miles on the Road 2012 campaign.

Miles began his journey in Daytona last weekend with his guide, Erin Sagester, manager of communications with Richard Childress Racing. Erin is a part of Elliott Sadler’s No. 2 OneMain Financial team for RCR. As Erin makes her way to a different track each week on the NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule, Miles will be by her side, posing for photos in recognizable locales.

Fans can keep up with Miles’ journey by “Liking” the Dover Facebook page at Facebook.com/DoverInternationalSpeedway. A photo gallery titled “Miles on the Road 2012” has been added and will be updated each week with Miles’ newest photos.

When Miles returns to Dover for the June 2 “5-hour ENERGY 200” and Sept. 29 “OneMain Financial 200” NASCAR Nationwide Series races, fans can see Miles all over the track all weekend as we’ll be posting numerous photos of him around the Monster Mile on Facebook throughout the Dover race weekends.

NASCAR returns to the Monster Mile June 1-3, 2012 with the June 1 “Lucas Oil 200” NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, the June 2 “5-hour ENERGY 200” NACAR Nationwide Series race and the June 3 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. For tickets or more information, call 800-441-RACE or click here.
