Bell leads “OneMain Financial 200” practice session

By Colton Wood

Christopher Bell posted the quickest lap time during the final NASCAR Xfinity Series practice session on Friday leading up to Saturday’s “OneMain Financial 200” Dash 4 Cash race at Dover International Speedway.

Bell clocked in a lap time of 152.665 mph around Dover’s one-mile high-banked oval to lead the 38-car field.

Elliott Sadler, one of four drivers eligible for Saturday’s $100,000 Dash 4 Cash bonus, was second quickest Friday at 151.248 mph. Tyler Reddick, Austin Cindric and Matt Tifft rounded out the top five.

Noah Gragson, who was the quickest in the first practice session, turned a lap of 150.025 mph, which was the sixth fastest time in the final session. Gragson ran a field-high 48 laps in the session.

Less than three minutes into the practice session, John Hunter Nemechek, who posted the fourth quickest time in the first NXS practice session, got loose in Turn 4, sending his No. 42 Fire Alarm Services Inc. Chevrolet spinning into the inside retaining wall.

Nemechek will now have to go to a backup car for Saturday’s race.

Saturday’s “OneMain Financial 200” NASCAR Xfinity Series Dash 4 Cash race will start at 12:30 p.m.
