Briscoe, 22, driver of the No. 29 Ford, registered a final-round speed of 156.474 mph to earn his first career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pole after completing three rounds of qualifying.

The rookie from Mitchell, Ind., could only manage to be the sixth fastest in practice on Thursday, but found the right combination one day later during qualifying. Briscoe was the 2016 ARCA champion.

Ryan Truex in the No. 16 Toyota will start second after turning a lap in 156.420 mph, with Christopher Bell (No. 4 Toyota, 156.352) third and rookie Austin Cindric fourth at 156.094 mph.

The “Bar Harbor 200” presented by Sea Watch International NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race takes the green flag Friday at approximately 5:30 p.m.
