In this comic from the Sept. 29, 2005 issue of NASCAR Scene magazine, artist Matt Dorton brought Miles the Monster to life, at the expense of Matt Kenseth. Kenseth has tangled with the Monster Mile many times, and Dorton poked fun at his recent struggles.

Kenseth had a tough time in September at Dover, blowing a tire on lap 367 of the Sept. 25, 2005 MBNA RacePoints 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race. He started the race 11th and finished 35th. A day earlier, in the Dover 200 NASCAR Busch Series race, Kenseth was tapped from behind by Paul Menard and touched off a wreck that collected 13 cars on lap 2.

Kenseth had a memorable accident in the Sept. 24, 2004 MBNA America 400, losing control of the #17 DeWalt Ford before plowing nose-first into the safety barrier at the entrance to pit road.

To his credit, however, in 12 career NASCAR Busch Series races in Dover, Kenseth has won twice. He won the MBNA Gold 200 on Sept. 19, 1998 and the MBNA.COM 200 on Sept. 23, 2000. In 10 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup starts at Dover International Speedway, Kenseth's best finish was 2nd in the MBNA Platinum 400 on June 4, 2000.
