MBNA RacePoints 400 is the most viewed NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race in FX broadcast history

DOVER, Del. – The MBNA RacePoints 400 made history on June 5, 2005 — it was the most watched NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race in the history of the FX network.
The MBNA RacePoints 400 earned a 4.9 rating on FX, up +11 % over the 4.4 rating for the 2004 Dover International Speedway event also seen on FX.
The 4.9 rating is based on an average of 4.9 % of all television viewing households tuned into the event.
The MBNA RacePoints 400 was also the #1 sporting event of the weekend, outperforming the PGA on CBS and the primetime NBA Conference Finals Game 6 between Miami and Detroit on TNT. It also aired directly against the AFL Playoffs, NFL Europe, LPGA, MLB and NCAA Women’s College World Series.
The NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races from Dover International Speedway also made history. Both were the most viewed events in the history of the Monster Mile. The Busch Series race earned a 1.6 rating on FX, up +23% over the 1.3 rating for the 2003 event also seen on FX. The 2004 event was postponed due to rain. The Craftsman Truck Series race, which was postponed due to rain, aired on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. It leaped +125% with a 0.9 rating on the SPEED Channel, compared to last year’s 0.4 rating.
The September 23, 2005 MBNA RacePoints 150 NASCAR Busch North Series race will be broadcast live on HDNet at 4:30 p.m., and will be rebroadcast on the SPEED Channel. The NASCAR Busch Series race will air on TNT on September 24, 2005 at 1 p.m. The MBNA RacePoints 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race will air on September 25, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. on TNT.
