Johnny Sauter, who has won the last two Gander Outdoors Truck Series races at Dover, posted the quickest speed on Thursday across two practice sessions for the “JEGS 200” NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race (Friday, 5 p.m. ET) at Dover International Speedway.
Sauter (No. 13 Ford), looking for his third straight Dover victory, had a fast lap of 156.958 miles per hour to pace the second practice session. Earlier Sauter had been fourth fastest in the first practice session.
Brett Moffitt (No. 24 Chevrolet) was second quickest with a speed of 156.508 mph, followed by Stewart Friesen (156.222 mph, No. 52 Chevrolet), Harrison Burton (156.033 mph, No. 18 Toyota) and Jesse Little (155.072 mph, No. 97 Ford).
Raphael Lessard (No. 46 Toyota) posted the quickest speed in Thursday’s first practice session, turning a lap in 23.226 seconds (154.999 mph), followed by Moffitt, Austin Hill (154.222 mph, No. 16 Toyota), Sauter and Todd Gilliland (153.984 mph, No. 4 Toyota). Lessard was sixth in the second practice with a speed of 154.932 mph.
Qualifying for the “JEGS 200” is set for Friday at 1:10 p.m.
