Brett Moffitt set a track record during Friday’s qualifying for the “JEGS 200” NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race at Dover International Speedway, turning a lap of 161.413 mph (22.303 seconds).
The top ten qualifiers posted speeds higher than the old record of 158.465 mph, set by Ryan Blaney on May 29, 2015, led by Moffitt in the No. 24 Chevrolet.
Johnny Sauter, the two-time defending champion of Dover’s NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series race, will start second on Friday after qualifying second in the No. 13 Ford.
