Dover International Speedway, home of The Monster Mile, is excited to announce the kickoff of the fifth annual "Monster Mile Youth Nation Design Challenge," a free project that combines the thrills of NASCAR with the skills of art, creativity and design.
In January and February of 2020, regional fifth-grade students will have the opportunity to design Dover International Speedway’s traveling pace car. Using simple tools such as crayons and colored pencils, students are encouraged to be as creative as possible with their designs.
The winning design will be converted to reality in March, national "Youth Art Month," and will appear on the Speedway’s traveling pace car that will be used during our 2020 racing season.
The top design will be unveiled at the winning student’s school prior to Dover International Speedway’s May 1-3 NASCAR tripleheader weekend, featuring the NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday, May 3. The winning student will receive a VIP experience at the Sunday, May 3 NASCAR Cup Series race.
In past years, NASCAR drivers Christopher Bell, Todd Gilliland, Erik Jones and Ryan Truex have appeared at the winning student’s school!
Registration is open through Friday, Jan. 3. Email email@example.com or call 302-883-6561 for more information.
